Welcome to – the Arts Annex,
The
Arts Annex, built in 1926 served as home to the Elks BPOE Lodge #1488
for more than 75 years, from 1926 through 2002. In November 2002,
the building was purchased by its current owner, Margaret Lockwood,
who has lovingly restored the building to its original beauty.
The
first floor of the Annex is offered as a hall and banquet facility to
host your special occasions. Its spiral staircase, stained glass
skylight, original beamed and tin ceilings, fireplace and French doors
open to your guests an intimate and inviting atmosphere.
The
second floor, approx. 4,500 sq feet, includes two studios, and is home
to Dance Express, a program for very talented and committed ballet and
modern dance students.
The
basement of the building still features three wooden bowling lanes,
which were certified by the American Bowling League from 1930 through
1986. The manual pin set up, foot pedals, and wooden ball returns are
just some of the very unique features of this very special and
historical building.
